Hello, our names are Marco Duarte and Marinela Moniz, we are two Portuguese students, we are currently finishing the GIS (Geographic Information Systems) course and we thought it would be a good idea to apply for the Erasmus+ program.

We spent a month in Poland in Rzeszow completing our internship. The internship took place at the company GEO-RAD, a company to which we would like to express our gratitude for their availability, friendliness and care during this incredible period.

It was a very enriching experience for us, because we put into practice everything we had learned at school and in addition we learned to work with new software and new data collection tools, which is one of the main objectives of this journey.

We work with total stations, GPS, drones and some software, namely Pix4D and Ewmapa. The fieldwork was incredible because we worked with tools that we had already handled before, but we also enjoyed all the work we did in the office using the aforementioned software because it was a challenge as some of the things we did were in Polish.

In Ewmapa we draw all the sewers and plumbing of a condominium, we insert the height and depth of these sewers and we mark the quoted points among other things.

In Pix4D we carried out drone flight simulations, based on a drone photograph inserted into the software and identified the corners of buildings.

We also use the drone to update maps by taking aerial photographs of the desired locations.

As soon as we arrived at the company we were received in the best possible way and this continued until the last day of the internship. They were all very understandable, friendly, attentive and always tried to explain everything we were doing throughout the internship in the best way possible, as there was a language barrier.

Finally, we would like to thank all the people who made us feel at home and also thank them for helping us take the first step into the world of work.
